World Book Day in The Hive
Today we celebrated World Book Day by dressing up in costumes or cosy clothes.
We had a soldier, a Gruffalo, Venom, Spider-Man in our class today along with Miss Getty who was a beautiful butterfly from The Hungry Caterpillar and Mrs McClelland who was Supergirl from the comic books. The other boys, Mrs Speers and Mrs McManus decided to stay comfy and wore their pyjamas.
We had a great time reading a new story today. We read Jack and the Jelly Bean Stalk by Rachael Mortimer and Liz Pichon. It was funny because it was very different to the other Jack and the Beanstalk story we had read.
While Mrs Speers read the story we explored a sensory tray filled with the giant’s treasures. We had great fun digging out jewels to make our own precious collection. We tried some different flavours of jellybeans and made lots of funny faces and noises to help tell the story.
