Minibeast Hunt!

13th Jun 2025
Today we went on a hunt for some marvellous minibeasts.  We remembered that worms like to come out when it is wet, but it was a sunny day.  We poured water on the ground and stamped our feet to sound like rain but the worms must have been hiding!  We know some minibeasts like to be in the dark damp soil so we had a look around for a suitable spot.  We found so many minibeasts.  Mrs Speers lifted them gently into a bowl so we could look closely at them.We loved seeing how the slugs stretched out at they moved and wiggled their horns.  We like seeing how speedy the centipede was.  We found a baby snail, a flatworm and lots of wood lice.  We had fun looking at them through our magnifying glasses.  When we were finished we gently put them back where we had found them.
